Housebound by kids and work and weather,
I long for outdoor days, and then they come!
Embryonic leaves unfurl their yellow-green,
and wind causes an applause among the oaks.
Pink azalea blossoms blink long lashes,
and bird and squirrels begin to build their nests.
The sky pitches pillowy clouds against
a bright blue blanket, stretching to infinity,
and my world expands behind the universe
to catch a glimpse of all in praise of You.
